Welcome to the Bonsai West Gallery of specimen trees. Many of these trees are currently in our collection, and some are favorite trees that have been sold over the years.
We are particularly proud of our specimen collection and feel that it represents one of the largest and most diverse collections in North America. This collection is the backbone of Bonsai West, and while we are a commercial nursery, we also are an arboretum and museum of some of the oldest bonsai in the country. The images represent a sampling of over 36 years of collecting Bonsai from around the world. Many of them are over 100 years old and originated from the first generation Japanese bonsai artists on the west coast.
We are continually working and re-working these trees so as you browse this gallery, you will see the progression of individual trees through the years, as well as new trees that we are adding and styling all the time.
The purpose of this gallery is to share our works with you for your inspiration and education. We do not do mail order, so please do not think of this gallery as an online shopping cart, however many of these trees are for sale in our nursery.
