Special Focus: Yamadori Larch

Skill level: INTERMEDIATE

The American Larch or Tamarack (Larix laricina) is a species that is quickly garnering popularity in North American bonsai. In this class, students will work to prune, wire, and pot their own bonsai from a selection of wild-collected trees, referred to as “yamadori.” This type of material typically results in a composition with a distinct organic quality, having grown in conditions which naturally dwarfed their size. Their small needles and stunningly golden fall foliage make the Larch a must-have piece for any cold-hardy collection.

Includes all materials required to take the class.
