Brazilian Rain Tree

Skill level: BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE

The Brazilian Rain Tree (Chloroleucon tortum) is native to the rainforests of South America and is a favorite among tropical bonsai lovers. Its compound leaves enfold when it gets dark at night and open up again with the light. This species will require conditions with full sun, and with proper care may yield delicate, fragrant flowers in the summer. Students will learn specific care and pruning techniques. We will all pot our new trees in a glazed ceramic pot and go home with a beautiful specimen bonsai.
