Beyond the Basics: Getting to Know Tropicals

This introductory class is designed for students looking for a more immersive experience in bonsai technique and horticultural practice. Beyond the Basics Tropicals combines all the content of our Introduction to Bonsai classes into one jam-packed session. We choose larger, more mature trees with some complexity to challenge students and allow for repetition and creativity. Topics covered will include: pruning, internal cleaning, shaping with wire, design, horticultural maintenance, soil composition, repotting and visualizing for the future. Seriously-minded beginners will appreciate the depth of instruction, and students will walk away with a solid foundation for working across many different species. Spend a relaxing day at the nursery and learn the fundamentals of bonsai! The price of the class includes all materials: tree, wire, soil, and pot.
