Special Focus: Japanese White Pine

Skill level: INTERMEDIATE

Where the Japanese Black Pine is considered the King of traditional bonsai, the Five-Needle Pine or Japanese White Pine is the Queen at its side. This pine is a beautiful blue-green hue, and its five-needle structure creates a dense, yet delicate, canopy. In this class, students will learn and incorporate techniques of wiring, shaping, and repotting to create a piece that will add a new layer of sophistication to any collection. Proper care and maintenance will be discussed to ensure success.
